Women are incredibly sensitive
concerning the appearance of their genitalia. Large, asymmetric or irregular
labia can often develop naturally with age, vaginal delivery, hormonal changes,
or intercourse.
Typically the labia minora can only be seen when a women spreads her legs,
however, there is a percentage of women with enlarged labia minora; making them
visible when the legs are closed. This causes many women a great deal of
shame and embarrassment, as well as a lack in confidence both emotionally and
sexually. These women become very self-conscious even when dressed as their
enlarged labia may be easily noticed in fitted pants or clothing such as a
bathing suit. They also experience severe discomfort during normal
activities due to the size of the labia.
As a result, many women choose to get labiaplasty, or labia surgery. This
procedure will shrink the size of the labia, thus reducing discomfort and notice
ability.
Labia Surgery is typically an outpatient procedure, with a total surgery time
of 1-2 hours total. Patients are able to leave the same day with restrictions
on certain activities.
Several techniques can be used in labiaplasty to reduce the size of the labia
minora. Trimming excess tissue, removing a triangular piece, and removing
the epithelium of a section of the labia (while keeping the underlying tissue
intact) is a very standard method. Dr. Aguirre’s technique is a blending of the teachings of Drs.
Matlock and Alinsod with his own personal modifications. He offers the best techniques and aesthetic
results available anywhere. Look at his Photo Gallery and compare my
results with those of others. You will absolutely love your results. The decreased
size of your labia, due to your labia reduction surgery, will give you new
confidence and comfort.
